This uniquely ♳ collection was inspired by the fascinating reflection of the clear ocean in the tropical “gemstones” of Indonesia. The charms were shaped to resemble jasmine; a flower that has been commemorating special events for long centuries.

This uniquely made collection was inspired by the fascinating reflection of the clear ocean in the tropical “gemstones” of Indonesia. The charms were shaped to resemble jasmine; a flower that has been commemorating special events for long centuries since ancient Javanese. One more thing that makes this simple yet elegant collection so special is that we use disposed ♳ PET plastic waste as our main material. It is simply just to show our concern about the current troubling issue related to the future of our ocean.

As the population grows during the years, waste is therefore expected to increase and causing inevitable negative impacts to environment. In Indonesia, organic waste takes roughly 65% of the generated waste and inorganic waste, such as plastic and fabric shreds, follows with approximately 20%.
Even though inorganic waste contributes less to the total waste in Indonesia, it is non-biodegradable and difficult to treat. Despite the social and environmental problems incurred by this type of waste, it actually offers a very great business opportunity.

Waste Suppliers
Currently we have two different types of suppliers. The first is local waste collectors, so called locally, “pengepul”. They main operation lies on waste collection from household and non-household sector (commercial area, market, office, industry). They obtain waste from appointed people (mostly informal) who take in charge of collecting waste in several residential areas and to a certain degree as well from small-medium industries.
Another one is named “Waste Bank” or Bank Sampah in Indonesian Language, a relatively small organization built by local people to facilitate recycables (like plastic, papers, metal) collection in their community. These local people regularly (commonly in weekly basis) bring potentially recycable waste to “Waste Bank”, and receive a certain amount of money which they deposit (like banking system).

We have been worked together with several waste banks and and local waste collectors to obtain clean and hygiene wastes including PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) bottles, HDPE (High-density polyethylene) packaging for our precious jewelry materials
Parts of our jewelry are made by women from marginalized communities in exchange for their additional family income and for some cases to cover their basic health insurance and children education expenses.
Conserve Raw Materials and Environment
Since we are using waste as the replacement for raw virgin materials, we furthermore reduce the environmental impact from material extractions and pollution
After we collect the waste, we increase the value of the waste by making them into salable goods like jewelry so that more income generating activities

Polyethylene Terephthalate plastics are highly transparent in appearance, available in different colors, lightweight and tough against gases and liquids.
High-Density Polyethylene
High-Density Polyethylene is a high-density plastic that is very stiff, has a good temperature resistance and a very good water vapour barrier.

Polypropylene has excellent chemical and solvent resistance and very low gas and water vapor permeability.

We have been working together with several waste banks and and local waste collectors to obtain clean and hygiene waste including PET, HDPE, PP, shredded glasses, fabrics, leather and other disposed materials for our precious jewelry materials
Parts of our jewelry are mainly made by women from marginalized communities in exchange for their additional family income and for some cases to cover their basic health insurance and children education expenses.
We mainly applied uncomplicated of processing the waste materials including cutting, melting, molding and during those processes we used simple tools to the sophisticated ones
We realize that during our production we also may give impacts to environment and for that concern we have been working very hard to upcycle raw materials as much as possible while avoiding unnecessary emmission.
