Rubysh on Big Circle Metro TV

We never expected that so soon  we will make a post with the title Rubysh on TV. But that what happened. Started with a phone call from Metro TV, one of the famous TV channel in Indonesia, Rubysh was told that we are invited to be on TV. Without knowing so much about the TV show, we accepted their offer.

One very bright Sunday, we welcomed the TV crew who was a bit late because of the weekly traffic from Jakarta to Bandung. At that moment, we asked a lot questions about the TV program that we will be aired. Hearing that Andy F Noya, well known for one of the popular TV host in Indonesia, already made us excited. They informed us that we will be on a program called Big Circle, a TV program that broadcast phenomenal and inspiring stories.

Out jewelry makers also experienced the same excitement like us. It made our scene take very nervous yet fun. Since it is our first time, we were very curious about how people make and compile the whole takes into one single running scene. But we need to wait till the day of the studio scene where we will meet Andy F. Noya and the co-hosts (Amanda Zevanya).

The team from Bandung finally went to Jakarta to go to Metro TV and took some preparation. On the back stage, we then did rehearsal and met the guy, Andy F Noya. He is so nice and kind of warm person. Ok it began to take the record.

There was three of us from Rubysh, each gave the talk. During the tapping we also had a nice chit chat with Veronica Colondam (Sociopreneur) dan Danton Sihombing (Brand Consultant), very lovable people. In total, it took almost an hour to finish the shot, we were also told that it will be aired two weeks afterward.

The time came for us on TV, it was so amazing. Somehow, it was so ridiculous to see ourselves talking in TV, but hey Rubysh on TV, it is great, isn’t it?

Rubysh on ADB Green Business Forum

It was such an incredible journey for Rubysh team to go to Manila representing Indonesia in Green Business Forum for Asia and Pacific held by Asian Development Bank (ADB).  This was the very first event to gather and meet stakeholders from governments, business entities, private organizations to discuss about the emergence of green-related business initiatives around Asia and Pacific regions.

At that time, not only having a chance to be one of the main speakers along with other representatives, Rubysh also had an opportunity to show case the products to the visitors from many countries including Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines, China, Korea, Japan and others. The responses were so amazing, they really supported our business and encourage us to scale up the business and furthermore replicate it in many suitable places in Indonesia.

Important to note as well that it was the first international tour for Rubysh, it was a very good moment to introduce Rubysh abroad and initiate close collaboration with others parties.  Few of them even expressed their interest in selling our product (mostly bag from up-cycled coffee sachets) in their countries. Another fun thing is that the luggage to be brought back home was lighter thanks to our international customer trust toward Rubysh.

Rubysh on Asempreuner Challange

I along with our funny head of marketing (Karina, on the left side of the picture) was so thrilled to be soon meeting with great delegates from selected countries in Asia, Australia and Europe in Asempreuner Challange 2016. The event was organized by Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affair. This was not only a competition to pitch our business ideas, but also a platform to strengthen cooperation between youth in the regions.

It spent 5 days with many great activities in each day. That included going to Kota Tua, old city in Jakarta, Betawi Traditional Village in Setu Babakan, Going to Jakarta Smart City Centre,  and attending a mini seminar with Rhenald Kasali (Founder of Rumah Perubahan). Karina was so happy to be finally be able to be in one frame with Rhenald Kasali. About the participant, that is also one other thing that made the event very great. They were cool, creative and very inspiring.

It was actually quite busy days since the schedule is so tight, but we had fun and and surely enjoyed staying in 5 star hotel.

Rubysh on Artup Festival

When arts and waste combined together, you may see something ordinary will happen. That was with Artup Festival in Bandung. October 28-30 2018 where Rubysh was gladly participated. With the concept of Waste meets Arts, this event brought well notorious artists to create diorama and arts ornament from waste. Many people came especially young age, they enjoyed the foods, performance, exhibition and also seminars on waste up-cycling.

This event was very special because, many tremendous ideas were floored and received public attention. It was also foound some companies took a part in doing campaigns of proper waste handling. It was manifestation of their willingness to be partially responsible for the packaging or waste from their products. It was a very critical milestone and can become a very great example fro other company to follow.

Rubysh also met with other vendors some exchanged some experiences. It was so thrilled to talk with them and share each other stories. Though, it was rainy days, we really enjoyed the festival and look forward to see them again next year.
